Railway Infrastructure of Montenegro — AD Podgorica is a joint-stock company established on July 9, 2008, in accordance with the Railway Restructuring Strategy of Montenegro.
The company operates on a cost-based principle and fulfills non-financial objectives defined by the Railway Development Strategy, the National Program, and the annual Program for the construction, maintenance, reconstruction, and modernization of infrastructure, as determined by the Government.
ŽICG is a company performing activities of public interest.
In its role as infrastructure manager, as a public asset in general use and owned by the State of Montenegro, Railway Infrastructure builds and invests in railway infrastructure, takes care of its modernization and maintenance, ensures access and allocates infrastructure capacity to all interested railway operators who meet legal requirements, determines charges for the use of infrastructure capacity, prepares and publishes timetables, and organizes and regulates railway traffic.
The annual Program for construction, maintenance, reconstruction, and modernization of infrastructure includes: maintenance works by type, scope, and financial value, costs of traffic management and regulation, and planned works related to modernization, reconstruction, and construction of infrastructure. A report on the implementation of the Annual Program is submitted to the Government based on the Agreement.
It is one of the first companies in Montenegro to adopt and implement the Corporate Governance Code of Montenegroberze. It is a member of CER (Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies) and UIC (International Union of Railways).
Proof of professional company management and the efficiency of all employees is reflected in the report of expert consultants of the World Bank, “Diagnostic of the Railway Sector in Montenegro” (The World Bank, June 2024), who, after reviewing all business and technical documentation, concluded that “ŽICG staff productivity is at a high regional level (2nd place).”
In the implementation of railway infrastructure modernization and reconstruction, the management and employees of ŽICG cooperate daily with international partners and financial institutions: Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF), European Investment Bank (EIB), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), World Bank (WB), and the Transport Community – EU.
At the XXVIII Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders held on September 16, 2025, Decision No. 8914 was adopted on the election of the members of the Board of Directors of the twenty-sixth term of ŽICG.
The following day (September 17, 2025), the constitutive session of the new Board of Directors was held, at which Aleksandar Dakić, a graduate lawyer, was unanimously elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Marina Bošković
She was born in Podgorica, where she completed primary and secondary school, and is a recipient of the Luča Award for primary and secondary education. She earned the title of Graduate Electrical Engineer – Electronics specialization at the University of Montenegro.
She began her professional career in 1997 at Railways of Montenegro in the position of System Engineer in the Department for Informatics, Development, and Research, where she participated in the formation of the information center and gained significant experience in the field of information technology. She advanced from Chief System Engineer, Head of the Information Systems Unit, to Head of the Information Technology Department, then Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors, and finally to the position of Executive Director at Railway Infrastructure of Montenegro, to which she was appointed on April 21, 2021, a position she currently holds.
She has twenty-three years of professional experience in the fields of information technology, network and server administration, project design implementation, as well as organizing most business processes of a complex commercial company. She has participated in several regional and international conferences in IT fields, as well as in areas related to improving the Corporate Governance Code, developing and implementing the Integrity Plan. She also holds the Information Security Management System Certificate: ISO 27001:2005.
She is the mother of Nemanja and Vladimir.
