Due to severe weather, railway traffic on the Bar–Virpazar line was interrupted this morning at 4:55 a.m. due to a power outage on the overhead contact network.
The following local passenger trains were cancelled: 6151 Virpazar–Bar and 6150 Bar–Virpazar.
Traffic on the Bar–Virpazar section is currently operating with diesel traction on the Bar–Sutomore–Bar route.
Maintenance teams for electrical facilities and the overhead contact network of ŽICG are on site and working to устранe the fault so that traffic can be normalized as soon as possible.
Passenger train 6100 was waiting for power to be restored at Bar station. Power has been restored on the Podgorica–Sutomore section.
Due to the power outage, railway traffic was also disrupted yesterday between Podgorica and Bijelo Polje. Specifically, the train that departed from Bar to Bijelo Polje at 3:30 p.m. was delayed in Kolašin due to the outage, and passengers were transported by bus to Bijelo Polje. Train 6105, traveling from Bijelo Polje to Bar, was also left without power. ŽICG teams resolved the issue around 10:00 p.m.
It is worth noting that modernizing the very outdated infrastructure is a long-term process, and the management of ŽICG is making maximum daily efforts to ensure that railway traffic in Montenegro operates smoothly and safely.
